QR Code Generator

Make a QR code that keeps working

Free QR codes for links, Wi-Fi and contact cards. Link codes come with scan counts, and we can switch off a code that's abused, even after it's printed.

The code holds a short link, so you can see how often it's scanned, and it can be switched off if it's ever abused.

Custom short links are free with an account. Sign in

Questions about QR codes

Is this QR code generator free?

Yes. Every code type, PNG downloads and the basic styles are free, with no sign-up. A free account adds more styles, frames and SVG downloads.

Do the QR codes expire?

Wi-Fi, text and contact codes, and links encoded directly, never expire: everything is inside the code. A link code holds a short link. Made without an account, it stops working after 90 days unless you sign in from the same browser to keep it. Made with an account, it doesn't expire.

What's the difference between a link code and encoding the link directly?

A link code holds a short link, so it stays small and easy to scan, counts its scans, and can be switched off if it's ever abused. Encoding the link directly makes a denser code with no stats, which can never be changed or switched off.

Is my Wi-Fi password safe?

Wi-Fi, text and contact codes are made entirely in your browser. What you type is never sent to us.

Can I see how many times my code was scanned?

Yes, for link codes. Every scan opens the short link, and your account shows how many times it was opened.

What size should I print it?

At least 2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 in) for a code scanned up close, and bigger the farther away people will be: about a tenth of the scanning distance. Keep the margin around the code clear.
